Yahoo News, ABC News Make Deal to Share Content

Yahoo News and ABC news have struck a deal to share stories and create web content. Announced today on “Good Morning America”, the partnership allows branded ABC News stories to appear on the Yahoo! News Network and paves the way for the companies to co-produce videos for the web featuring popular ABC News anchors like Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric and Barbara Walters. The alliance will help ABC bolster its online presence through the Yahoo! Sites which, according to comScore, boasts more visitors than any website. For Yahoo, the partnership could be seen as a move to increase ad revenue, which has been flat despite Yahoo’s online partnership with Microsoft.
Goodmorningamerica.com, an interactive website, will be launched through the Yahoo! network. The move will also integrate news bureaus in the major U.S. cities of New York City, Los Angeles and Washington D.C.
