Twitter, Do You Follow?

I read a good article by Sean Nicholson today on how to get people to follow you on Twitter. We all know that Twitter can be overwhelming at times, some great content, but so much information to keep up on, right? So how do you make sure your information gets followed and who do you follow? Here are some great tips that can really help you with your account and gain followers.
1.) Put a photo or something personal on your profile, people want to know who you are.
2.) Have a good name picked out. For example, it could be your name, an interest you have, or your company, but don’t do a bunch of numbers or characters. That’s annoying and it doesn’t tell anyone about you.
3.) Have an eye catching profile so people know who you are and what you are about so they can decide if they want to follow you.
4.) Don’t make your Tweets private. If you follow me, then I should be able to follow you, right?
5.) Make your Tweets interesting or useful. People want to learn something.
6.) It’s good to ReTweet. If something you read is good, share it with your followers.
7.) Hashtags are good if used correctly. You can use them as keywords, when your Tweet doesn’t contain them.
8.) Follow your Followers. If the ratio of who you are following and how many followers you have are extremely unbalanced, then it either looks like you don’t like your followers Tweets or that you don’t have many people that like yours.
9.) Tweet often if you have something good to say.
10.) Don’t Tweet about where you are at or what you are eating, most people really don’t care.
I think these are all good tips to help you gain followers on your Twitter account, but the most important thing is Tweet something interesting that people want to read and educate whenever possible. Your followers will appreciate it.
