Say Goodbye To Third Party Review Content And Listings On Google Places

Google Maps and Place Pages will look a little different next time you are searching around, as there is a new look. After some issues that Google had with Yelp and TripAdvisor last year, it prompted Google to make some changes.
The Place Page has a new layout and concentrates on reviews from Google users and not third party reviews anymore. The Place Page does however link to third party sites, but only after showing selections of Google user reviews first.
Also in this new look, there is more emphasis on reviews with two “Write a review” buttons. There will also be a slightly different look to the Place Page depending on the business type.
Google also removed some important pieces like citations/references and review snippets and there are more changes promised in the future. How do you think this will impact users and will you miss seeing those third party snippets?
