New Twitter and Business Brand Pages

Twitter has launched a new website and is in the process of rolling out enhanced business profiles for business.

The new website features a tab menu that is the same across all devices and offers a clean, simplified design.

In addition to the “Home” tab, a new “Connect” tab allows users to see who has followed them, mentioned them, “retweeted” or “favorited” one of their Tweets.

The “Discover” section displays interests and what’s happening in the world based on the user’s interests and location.

Business Profile and Brand Pages

The new business profile pages feature an expanded header that is customizable and allows companies to promote a Tweet containing an important message at the top of their page’s timeline. The enhanced profile pages will launch featuring 21 companies including @AmericanExpress, @BestBuy, @bing, @chevrolet, @CocaCola, @Dell, @DisneyPixar, @generalelectric, @Heineken, @HP, @intel, @JetBlue, @Kia, @McDonalds, @nikebasketball, @NYSE_Euronext, Paramount Pictures’ Mission: Impossible – @GhostProtocol, @pepsi, @Staples, @subwayfreshbuzz, and @VerizonWireless.   1. Let’s not get side tracked here, there’s one main underlying reason for all these new changes from Twitter: the profit!

    With over 300 million tweets a day they were lacking a proper advertising system to cash in from all that.
